Egersund Group is a total supplier of trawling equipment, aquaculture nets and merchandice to the fishing fleet and aquaculture industry. Egersund Group also produces equipment related to oil spill recovery. Egersund Group have been a solid partner for fishermen since 1952

1952

1952
Kåre Mong and Arne Friestad establish Egersund Barkeri. Kåre Mong was appointed Managing Director. The company carries out its activities in an old salt shed in Svanavågen. Production during the early years consists of treating and impregnating herring nets.

1950's

1950's
The company changes its name to Egersund Trawlverksted. Production shifts gradually over to the manufacture of trawls as the fishing industry starts to use this type of net. Smaller shrimp/prawn trawls are the first products, but soon trawls are made for local boats that fish for cod off the coast of Finnmark.

1970's

1970's
Commencement of production of blue whiting trawls for large, combined purse seiners / pelagic trawlers. More production area is required and this leads to further expansion of the facilities. Production of nets for fish farming starts.

1980's

1980's
Continuing growth in activities and number of employees. Growth in blue whiting fishing. High level of expansion, including larger halls for assembling pelagic trawls. Establishment of branch at Abelsnes near Flekkefjord.
 

1996

1996
Egersund Net de-merged as wholly owned subsidiary of Egersund Trål. Large halls built for the production of seine lines and fully-finished nets for fish farming. The company has a stable and good growth in turnover and increase in staff. 

1999

1999
Egersund Herøy AS is established at Mjølstadneset/Herøy near Ålesund. The company starts producing large pollac trawls for boats fishing in Alaska. 

2002

2002
Egersund Net establishes a progressive and envrionmentally-friendly washing station for fish farming nets at Grøne Haugen, Egersund. The company celebrates its Golde Jubilee the same year and "Egersund Trål 1952 - 2002", an anniversary book written by Lars Martin Ramsland, is published. The group now employs approx. 160 people and cover the entire market, both in terms of trawls and fish farming products. 

2004

2004
The Egersund Trål Group takes over Rabben Fiskeredskap on Austevoll south of Bergen. The company also takes over the net division of the Eskja Group at Iceland the same year.

2006

2006
May 2006, a new department for mounting of nets is opened in the town of Taurage, Lithuania. All fish farming industry groups are now ISO certified, including the group in Lithuania. Later that same year, a new and modern impregnation facility is opened in Egersund. 
 

2007

2007
The organisation undergoes several changes during the course of 2007. All companies within the Group are gathered under a common brand: Egersund Group. The administration is gathered in a separate market: Egersund Management AS. 

AS Fiskenett, siutated at Manger outside Bergen, becomes a fully owned subisidiary of Egersund Group this same year. Egersund Group also buys 34% of the shares in Meløy Notbøteri, a company situated south of Bodø. 

2008

The mechanical department in Egersund Trål is established as a separate company, Egersund Mek AS. Meanwhile, there is considerable building activity at the Group's premises in Egersund. A rock beside Egersund Net's production building is removed to make place for the growing administration. 

2009

2009
Egersund Net establishes a service station at Vevelstad outside Brønnøysund. The department offer a complete range of services, including crane handling, washing and desinfection of nets, a production hall and anti-fouling treatments. Egersund Island expands its production capacity this same year and Egersund Net's department at Austevoll opens a new and modern impregnation facility. 

2010

2010
Egersund Net establishes new servicestation at Gårdsøya outside the town of Brønnøysund. The old service station at Toft is closed.

A new productionhall at Andøya is established the same year to handle ish farming nets that are up to 160m in circumference. 

Egersund Net acquires 34% stake in Nofi Oppdrettservice at Skjervøy in Troms. The company also acquires 100% of the stakes in Leroy Hydrotech AS's service station in Kristiansund. 

Egersund Net's production department in Lithuania, UAB Egersund Net, expands its production capacity. 

2011

2011
Egersund Group owns 50% of MD Group, a company started in 2009. MDGroup and Egersund Trål work together to develop a new generation of oil spill recovery products, with the potential of revolutionizing oil spill recovery at sea.

2012

2012
Egersund Group AS acquires 50% of the shares in AKVA group ASA. The investment is made for industrial reasons and has a long-time investment horizon. AKVA group ASA is a leading supplier of technology and services to the global aquaculture industry. 

2013

2013
Two years after buying Lerøy Hydrotech's service station at Rensvikholmen in the municipality of Kristiansund, a new net production hall and washing machine is ready for use. To gain controll of the purification of the used water, the company has invested in a high-tech treatment facility. The facility is officially opened on January 17th 2013. 

2014

2014
Egersund Net acquire 50% of the shares in Emel Balik in Izmir, Turkey. In 2014, new production facilities, comprising production of new nets and a cleaning and coating facility, is ready for use. 

2015

2015
With effect as of December 1st, Egersund Net buys Refa's department in Rørvik. The company now has a total of eight service stations. 

OK Marine AS becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Egersund Group. The Krsitiansand-based company supplies quality equipment to the fishing and aquaculture industry. 

Egersund Group is named "Company of the Year" in the Stavanger Region. 52 candidates were nominated for the award, which is handed out annually by Stavanger Chamber of Commerce on the basis of e.g. profitability and distinction. 

2016

2016
Egersund Trål takes over Utgårdskilen Trålservice, a traditional company at Hvaler in Østfold that was about to close down business. Egersund Trål was now represented in a new part of the country, with a desire to support an impressive fishing environment. 

In 2016, Egersund Group also acquired 50% of the shares in Fjord Solution AS, a company working on innovative product ideas for tomorrow's aquaculture technology. 

2017

2017
Egersund Group takes over 51% of the shares in the Markleen group, a reputable supplier of oil spill technology with production in Zaragoza, Spain.

Egersund Trål establishes a new trawl workshop in the port of Skagen, Denmark, the same year. 

2018

2018
In February 2018, a combined service station and shop opened in Rørvik, where both Egersund Net, Egersund Trading and AKVA group is represented. 

Egersund Net buys 70% of the shares in Grading Systems (UK) Ltd, the company behind the patented Flexi-Panel grading system for fish in sea. 

Egersund Trål enters into an agreement to take over trawl production companies ES Trawl (located in Hanstholm, Denmark) and Hyborøn Trawlbinderi (located in Thyborøn and Hvide Sande, Denmark). 

2019

2019
Egersund Trål enters into an agreement to take over Tor-Mo Trawl, a trawl production company in Hirtshals, Denmark. This is part of the company's ambition to strenghten its Fisheri business unit by increasing its presence in Denmark and grow its industry expertise. 

Greenline Fishing Gear becomes part of Egersund Group with a 70% owner share. Greenbear Fishing Gear is located in Sæby, Denmark, whose core business is sale of selection systems for fishing equipment (trawls), and hardware, rubber etc. for fishing.
